Part One
I am Rupert Altwell, called the Wise, and this is the tale of Snerk, a goblin of unexpected intelligence, and the recitation of certain heroics that led to his role in the Great War. Of course, few know or would suspect that a goblin could be of any use whatsoever, especially as a hero, but I knew upon first meeting him that he’d be far more valuable than as an easy source of few measly experience points and a handful of copper coins. So, this chapter starts the story of his life insofar as I understand it.
